Network/Desktop Support Position:
Cogent IT, a growing regional provider of outsourced IT and management systems support,
is seeking an experienced Network/Desktop Support person. This contract position will
give you experience working directly with Cogent’s clients to provide client support
and to consult on network and infrastructure design. You will respond to calls for assistance
and either resolve issues directly or refer them to more senior staff, partner with other staff
on troubleshooting and network/system design and occasionally travel to client sites to set up,
configure and/or troubleshoot client systems.
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of operating systems including
Windows 9x, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Mac OS9 and Mac OS X and common office
applications including the MS Office Suite. You must also demonstrate an ability to
troubleshoot and solve complex hardware and software problems, interact with a wide variety
of users in a professional and customer-focused manner, effectively manage multiple conflicting
priorities and deadlines, and respond effectively to change. This position requires a car and
the ability to travel to customer locations.
